Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, along with entourage of officials and industry members, will leave late Sunday night on a five-day visit to the United States. The visit, his first to a foreign country since he became Chief Minister, is aimed at inking potential investment deals in the state. Besides, the CM would also be extending invitation to the corporate there for participating in the first global investor meet that is planned for February 2017 in Jharkhand.

According to the CMO, apart from the Chief Secretary, one Additional Chief Secretary, three principal secretaries, a commissioner and Director level officials, besides his personal secretaries would accompany the CM in this visit. Representatives from Tata Steel, JSW and also Confederation of Indian Industry and Ernest and Young would also be travelling with the CM.
The CM will also hold a roadshow at Taj Pierre in New York on September 29. “The team will go there prepared for finalising any deal, if an investor shows such inclination. Besides, the CM will also urge them to come to Jharkhand for the Global Investor Meet in February and identify the investment potential for themselves,” said a CMO spokesperson. He added that some of the officials have already reached the US to ensure things go as per plan.
On September 29, the Consul General Ambassador Riva Ganguly Das would host a dinner for the delegation in New York. Earlier, the CM has been visiting several Indian cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata to meet and attract investments in Jharkhand. He has been telling the investors that the situation in Jharkhand has improved considerably in terms of ease of business and naxalism was no longer a problem.
