Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai on Thursday night, continues to remain under doctors’ observation, the hospital authorities said in the latest health bulletin Saturday.
News of her ill health and possibilities of her being shifted to Singapore for advanced treatment were doing the rounds on social media as well as on a television channel. However, both the Apollo Hospital authorities and the AIADMK spokespersons denied those reports and maintained that her condition was normal. “Honourable Madam is on a normal diet,” said a statement from Subbiah Viswanathan, Chief Operating Officer of Apollo Hospitals.
Jayalalithaa, 68, was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Greams Road in Chennai city late on Thursday night after she complained of ‘fever and dehydration.’ The first hospital bulletin, issued in the wee hours of Friday, confirmed her admission due to fever and dehydration.
