After a meeting with the Gurgaon deputy commissioner late Sunday night, leaders of the Jat community agreed to stop their agitation. However, Gadoli and Basai villages witnessed protests for few hours which were later called off after the leaders intervened.
Gurgaon Police chief Navdeep Singh Virk tweeted Monday morning, “No road blockade in Gurgaon this morning, situation expected to remain normal today. Gurgaon Police is in control of situation. Rapid Action Force has been deployed across the city.”

“Train services on the Delhi-Jaipur route have been restored. Special patrolling parties have been deployed along with duty magistrates to maintain vigil at night. Gurgaon Police is committed to maintaining law and order in the district… Local leaders of all communities have also agreed to cooperate to maintain peace and order in the district,” added Virk.
Blockades were, however, reported in the early hours of Monday on NH-1 between Delhi and Chandigarh at Village Larsoli, Sonepat.
Deputy Commissioner T L Satyaprakash had enforced Section 144 on Saturday, barring the assembly of five or more persons anywhere in the Millennium city, till further orders.

He said the order was meant to “thwart and prevent occurrence of any. unlawful activities, blocking of roads, passages, railway tracks, water channels…”
“All government colleges and schools will be closed. However, private schools to be open as they have buses. So, administration feels private schools can manage through better logistics.We are encouraged to take this decision due to the response of all community leaders, principals, parents and officers. We had a calm day today without a single traffic snarl,” he added.
The Jat leaders, who unanimously decided to call off all the protests in the city, will be holding an all-community meeting Tuesday to discuss the future course of action, said a member of the Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti.
