Hailing the release of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel on court orders, the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said it was victory of truth and democracy over highhandedness of the state BJP government.
A statement issued by the Congress Friday said that the state government had used all kinds of tricks against PAAS leaders having been booked under sedition charges.
However, the court orders to release Hardik and other PAAS leaders had strengthened the faith of people in judiciary as also democracy.
“The court decision has made people happy and poured cold water on the BJP’s plans,” said Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi.
Congratulating PAAS leaders over release of Hardik and others booked in sedition cases, AAP state president Dr Kanubhai Kalsaria said that release of Hardik was “victory of truth” and “defeat of undemocratic stand of the state government.”
Dr Kalsaria hoped that following the court verdict in Hardik’s case, the state government would not initiate criminal action against any individual or groups fighting for their own rights or the rights of their communities or the group in democratic manner.
