Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) will be built at the same venue where the Make In India Week took place.
On the concluding day of the event on the sprawling MMRDA grounds at the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), he said, “We will come up with a mega plan for IFCS at this very place which successfully held the Make In India Week.”
On the Centre’s bullet train project for which land will be required at BKC, Fadnavis said, “I have already held talks with the Centre on the matter. It has assured it would take a decision only after a consensus with the state.”
“Even if the bullet train project is underground, we have pointed out that they need to work with the state on how overland logistics can be worked. The Centre-state shares excellent relations and we will ensure both these projects take place smoothly.”
Meanwhile, on the last day of the weeklong event, Fadnavis said a lot of people were requesting him not to dismantle the structure at Make in India Centre. Some are apparently suggesting that the “well designed” structure be made permanent. People of all age groups and from all walks of life continued to throng the venue well past 5 pm Thursday, standing in a queue stretching up to 5 km.
