Five members of a family, including three women, were murdered allegedly by close relatives over a property dispute in Bhainsa town of Adilabad district on Tuesday. Officials said the assailants were nephews of the family head Naimatullah Khan, a former Bhainsa town municipal corporator. He and nephews were involved in a dispute for ancestral property since 2013.
According to the police, the accused brothers — Noorullah Khan, 43, and Javid Khan, 33, first killed their uncle Naimutullah, 55, and his son Younus Khan, 33, at their ancestral house at Shivaji Chowk. “They threw chilli powder on the victims before beheading them with swords. They then went to Naimatullah’s house in Nayi Abadi locality and stabbed his wife Waheeda Khanum, 45, also a former municipal corporation, her sister-in-law Akram Bee, 75, and daughter Ayesha Khanum,” Circle Inspector I Raghu said. The two accused had assaulted Akram Bee in 2013 and were jailed for three years. They were out on bail.
