THE Himachal Pradesh High Court admitted a writ petition filed by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the case relating to her land at Chharabra near Shimla, opposing orders of the State Information Commission to allow access information on its details sought by an RTI activist Dev Ashish Bhattacharya. The order in this regard for admitting the case for hearing was passed by division bench comprising Justice Trilok Singh Chauhan and Justice PS Rana .

While admitting Priyanka Gandhi’s plea ,the bench directed the HC registry to expedite the hearing and list the case immediately . The petitioner had challenged the order passed by State Information Commissioner whereby the Deputy Commissioner, Shimla and Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Shimla were directed to supply the information within 10 days to the RTI activist.

The High Court had stayed the order of the commission, but despite that, the Information Panel had summoned Deputy Commission for compliance of the directions.
