Four army men deployed in Southern Ladakh were killed when they were caught in an avalanche during patrolling. All the bodies have been retrieved.
The army said that four jawans of 3 Ladakh Scouts were killed when they were hit by an avalanche on Sunday.
Spokesman Northern Command said the jawans of Ladakh Scouts were killed in Southern part of Ladakh on Sunday when they were moving from one camp to another. He said the resue operation was launched but soldiers had died before they were rescued.
”The bodies of jawans have been retrieved from the avalanche,” the spokesman said.
The army has identified the deceased soldiers as Havaldar Twesang Narbu, Havaldar Dorjey, Rifleman Mohammad Yusuf and Rifleman Jigmaid.
