The Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU), led by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Wednesday demanded that organisers of an event to mark the death anniversary of Afzal Guru, held in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus on February 9, should face legal and administrative action.

“We request you to save the prestigious JNU from the clutches of some anti-national individuals and organisations who have maligned its image by indulging in such acts. We request you to kindly ensure that such events, which bring shame to the entire educational fraternity, are nor repeated,” stated the memorandum, signed by all four DUSU office-bearers.

“All the organisers… who are JNU students and who organised it even after refusal of permission by the administration, should be booked…” it said. “The V-C told us that the enquiry committee would submit its report on February 25 and our points will be kept in mind. We have decided to wait until then before taking the next step,” said DUSU president Satender Awana.
