In a latest twist in the Dadri lynching incident, a report released by the Uttar Pradesh veterinary department confirmed on Monday that Mohammad Akhlaq and his family ate mutton.

Akhlaq, 52, was killed in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Dadri district on September 28, after a mob attacked his family for allegedly eating beef.

The police last week filed the chargesheet in the case, naming 15 people as accused, including one juvenile. There was no mention of beef in the chargesheet.
