Unidentified persons, claiming to be cow protectors, allegedly made away with a truck containing eight cows and two calves, while they were being transported from Moga to Tarn Taran.

According to Gursewak Singh, resident of Moga, “It was around 2:45 am when we reached near Jeoneneke village. We noticed a white Balero was following us. There were around seven persons in car. They overtook us and forced us to stop. They introduced themselves as Shiv Sena workers and claimed that they were cow protectors. They pointed a gun to my head and asked us to drive towards Makhu. Then they stopped on the way and tied our hands and made away with the truck and cows,”

The men also took away mobile phones and Rs 75,000 cash. A case has been registered in Harike Police station.
