Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar
Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress (GPMC) slammed CM Laxmikant Parsekar alleging that he insulted woman by comparing offshore casino’s to pregnant woman.
The GPMC demanded that Parsekar must resign from his post and demand apology within 15-days.
“Didn’t the CM get any other example? How can gambling business like casinos be compared to being a mother. The statement is humiliating and not fit from a person holding coveted post,” GPMC spokesperson Pratima Coutinho said. She further added that BJP lacks respect for woman and added that the statement was insensitive.

In a rebuttal statement, Coutinho stated that it was former CM Manohar Parrikar and incumbent Parsekar who issued licence to the offshore vessels.
GPMC said that the party workers will take on the streets if Parsekar did not apologise and retract his statement.
On Friday, Chief Minister Parsekar in a controversial statement drew comparison between the opposition’s legacy of establishing offshore casinos in Goa to his position of being compelled to marry a pregnant woman and acting as a father to her children. He added saying offshore casinos are UPA govt’s mess not BJP’s.
