A helicopter carrying Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh and his cabinet colleague Kedar Kashyap to Raipur from Sukma on Monday developed a technical snag resulting in a sudden jolt mid-air and loss of height. Senior officials said the pilot, however, was quick to respond to the problem, and landed the helicopter safely.
Singh was returning to Raipur after visiting the Maoist-hit district where he inaugurated several government initiatives. A senior official said, “As they were returning, the helicopter developed a small technical fault, and dropped 150 feet. The pilot quickly salvaged the situation and landed the aircraft in Raipur safely. Nobody was injured.”
