Arvind Kejriwal quotes PMO sources, says next CBI raid at Manish Sisodia or Satyendra Jain’s office

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday hinted that raids by investigative agencies might be carried out at his deputy Manish Sisodia or his party colleague Satinder's office, on the direction of Centre, very soon.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Friday claimed “sources” had told him that two of his cabinet ministers will be targeted in “raids”.

“PMO sources — Next raid on Manish or Satinder. Officers under them being pressurised to get something wrong signed from them,” Kejriwal tweeted, referring to deputy CM Manish Sisodia and health, home and PWD minister Satyendar Jain.

The tweet was followed by another one.

“Modiji aap kuch bhi kar lo, sachchai hamare saath hai, bhagwan hamare saath hai. Aap hamara kuch nahi bigaad sakte (Modiji, you can do whatever you want, the truth is on our side, God is on our side. You cannot harm us)”.

Attributing the information to “sources”, Kejriwal said, “Since the Anna Hazare movement started, very big conspiracies have been hatched against us. They were first aimed at the party, and now that the government has been formed, they are aimed at the government. Our only strength is our transparency and honesty. Ministers used to tell us during Anna movement, ‘don’t go out and say this’. We used to say ‘we will go out and say everything. Tell us only what you want to tell others’. The Modi government at the Centre is doing everything to derail us. They are interfering in the smallest of things. Whatever we get to know we tell you (media). Their conspiracies will never succeed,” Kejriwal told reporters.

The CM’s claims came a month after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the Delhi Secretariat, claiming it was probing allegations of corruptions against Rajendra Kumar, secretary to the CM. Kejriwal had then drawn daggers at the Centre for raiding the CM’s office under the garb of investigating charges against Kumar.

He alleged his office was raided by the CBI to examine files on the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) that could possibly implicate Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley — who had presided over it while a number of irregularities were allegedly committed.

The AAP government has been mired in a turf war with the BJP-led Centre for almost a year since the former came to power in February 2015.

From bureaucratic appointments, postings, Lt Governor’s approvals, law and order to raids on the government headquarters, Kejriwal has accused the Centre of repeatedly interfering in the government’s affairs to prevent its smooth functioning.
