BJP’s Dayashankar Singh booked for comparing Mayawati to prostitute

Mayawati too lashed out at the BJP for Singh's remark saying it only shows party's frustration due to growing public support for BSP in UP, which goes to polls next year.

Taking strong exception to his comment, comparing Mayawati to a prostitute, the BSP on Wednesday evening lodged an FIR against BJP leader Dayashankar Singh. Singh was also sacked as BJP’s UP vice president for his remark that caused uproar in the Rajya Sabha forcing its adjournment.

Talking to media in Mau, Singh had said. “Mayawati is breaking the dream of Kanshi Ram into pieces. Mayawati is selling tickets like a prostitute. She gives tickets for Rs one crore and if there is someone who can give Rs 2 crore than she sells it for Rs 2 crore within an hour. If someone is ready to give Rs 3 crore by the evening, she gives the ticket to him. She is even worse than prostitute.”

Singh’s remarks drew severe flak from members in the Rajya Sabha, including women MPs, with Deputy Chairperson P J Kurien saying that the House wants the Government to ensure that stringent action is taken against the BJP leader, as per law, for his “unforgivable” comments.
