
A local BJP leader from Karnataka’s Shivamogga district was arrested on Tuesday for threatening to behead Chief Minister Siddaramaiah if he dared to eat beef.
The former president of the Shivamogga city council, S N Channabasappa (54), was arrested for his remarks on Monday. Last week, the Karnataka CM had said that nobody could stop him from eating beef, if he wanted to. He had followed it up by saying that he would eat pork too.

Reacting to Siddaramaiah’s comments during a protest rally, Channabasappa had said: “You are openly saying that you will eat cow meat. If you have the guts come to Gopi circle and state that you will eat beef. There is no doubt that on that day you will be beheaded…”
On Tuesday, Shivamogga district Congress president Prasa-nna Kumar filed a police complaint. “We registered a criminal case against Channabasappa for threatening the cm. He has been arrested,” Shivamogga sp Ravi
