Police said, as per the information shared by the deceased's uncle, 24-year-old Prakash had a dispute with his wife Guddi over some issue and he consumed some poisonous substance soon after.

Bisara youth Jay Prakash, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday leading to allegations of police harassment, may have consumed poison following a fight with his wife, police today claimed.

Police said, as per the information shared by the deceased’s uncle, 24-year-old Prakash had a dispute with his wife Guddi over some issue and he consumed some poisonous substance soon after.

However, since the post-mortem report was not conclusive, his viscera samples have been preserved which will be further sent to a lab at Agra or Ghaziabad, Jarcha Station House officer Subodh Kumar said.

Prakash’s death had heightened tension in the village after his family and villagers alleged that he was facing police harassment following the lynching of Mohammed Iqlakh over rumours of beef consumption.

Senior police officials had confirmed that Jay Prakash’s name was not in the list of absconders and denied allegations about raiding houses and spreading any kind of terror.
