In a relief to Kerala Congress (M) leader KM Mani, who was forced to quit as finance minister over the bar bribery scandal, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) told the court that it has not found enough evidence to prosecute him.
In a report given to the vigilance court Wednesday, the VACB sought the court’s permission to close the case.
The VACB probe claims that owner Saju Dominic, who allegedly went to Mani’s Pala residence to give the money, was found out of Pala on the stated day as per his call details. CM Oommen Chandy said Mani would return to the cabinet soon. Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan said the report favouring Mani was given under political duress.
