JD(U) MLA ‘caught on video taking Rs 2 lakh bribe’
Sitting JD(U) MLA Satyadeo Kushwaha, recontesting from Kurtha, was allegedly videographed taking Rs 2 lakh during a sting operation conducted by an team for the programme X Files. The video purportedly shows Kushwaha taking the money with a promise that he would favour a company in enhancing business in the area if the grand alliance comes to power.
The video shows the MLA purportedly asking for “five” to “ consider the company’s request. While the MLA said he had not seen the video, he alleged it might be a “conspiracy of BJP” to defame the JD (U). “It is an age of technology. It is quite possible that some clips are lifted from somewhere. I deny being in any such video,” said the MLA. JD (U) state president Bashistha Narayan Singh said: “We will get details of the video and take action if it is found genuine.”
