Six Haryana cadre IAS officers of the 1991 batch, including Ashok Khemka, were promoted to the rank of Principal Secretary.

Anil Malik, Vineet Garg, Abhilaksh Lakhi, Apoorva Kumar Singh and Shrikant Walgad are the other officers. G Anupama of the same batch was granted a proforma promotion as she is currently posted with the Centre.

The previous Congress government in Haryana chargesheeted Khemka for allegedly “wrongly cancelling” the mutation of a land deal between Robert Vadra’s M/s Skylight Hospitality and DLF Universal Ltd. However, about two months ago, the incumbent BJP government in the state dropped the chargesheet, finding “no merit” in the charges against Khemka.

The decision was taken by departmental promotion committee headed by Chief Secretary D S Dhesi.
