Calling Asaram Bapu a disgrace, members of Nirmohi Akhara Wednesday vandalised an ashram belonging to the jailed spiritual leader in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh.

Members of the Nirmohi akhara were alloted the ashram to stay during the Simhasth Kumbh that begins Friday. On Wednesday afternoon, they tore off photographs and hoardings featuring Asaram Bapu, who is in jail on charges of raping a minor.

The Ashram inmates said they would have vacated the premises and removed the posters and other images had the akhara members asked them to.
