A special investigation team of southeast district has questioned five doctors, who are members of an independent transplant authorisation body, in connection with the kidney racket exposed last month. “Two more doctors of Apollo Hospital have been asked to join the probe in coming days,” said police sources.
DCP (southeast district) M S Randhawa said more members of the association are likely to be questioned in the coming days.
“Among the five doctors from the body, four were from Apollo and one from Holy Family Hospital. They were asked about their role in the transplant authorisation body and how they passed files with bogus details,” said police sources. The doctors were summoned when it came to fore that five organ transplant operations were conducted after they gave their permission, said sources.
