Akhilesh nominates Balwant Singh Ramoowalia for Legislative Council

On October 31, last year, Akhilesh inducted Ramoowalia as a cabinet minister. Ramoo-walia, who had then resigned from SAD a few hours before taking oath as a minister.

A DAY before he would have ceased to be minister in the state cabinet, Prisons Minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia was Friday nominated to the legislative council on the recommendation of CM Akhilesh Yadav.

Governor Ram Naik cleared his name, along with two others — Zaheer Hassan ‘Waseem Barelvi’ and Madhukar Jetley — moments after he received the CM’s list of new recommended names to fill up four of the six vacant posts in the council.
