Air Commodore Arun Saklani took over as Air Officer Commanding, 12 Wing, at Air Force Station, Chandigarh, on Monday.
He succeeds Air Commodore S K Indoria who is proceeding on posting to Central Air Command.
A ceremonial parade was conducted for the handing over ceremony which was also attended by senior retired officers, including Air Marshal (retd) Randhir Singh and Air Marshal (retd) R S Bedi.
Air Commodore Saklani was commissioned as a pilot in transport stream of the Indian Air Force in June 1988. He is an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, and is a qualified flying instructor. He has flown over 5500 hours on AN-32 and Boeing-737 aircraft. He has been Chief Flying Instructor in a training establishment and also commanded a transport squadron at a transport base in eastern India. He was Director Transport Operations at Air HQs prior to his present posting.
