Ahead of PM’s visit, 13 CRPF jawans injured in grenade attack in Srinagar

Officials said that on Thursday evening unidentified men tossed grenade towards Hotel Ikhwan at Khayam. In the grenade attack 13 CRPF jawans of 82 battalion stained injuries.

Two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Srinagar, unidentified persons hurled a grenade towards the CRPF camp housed in a hotel in which 13 CRPF personnel were injured.

Officials said that on Thursday evening unidentified men tossed grenade towards Hotel Ikhwan at Khayam. In the grenade attack 13 CRPF jawans of 82 battalion stained injuries.

CRPF spokesman confirmed the attack and said that the injured jawans were shifted to a hospital for treatment. After the attack, senior officials rushed towards the spot.

After the attack security has been tightened around the city as PM Modi will be addressing a public rally in the city.
