THE AAP Friday announced that it would gherao Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence if he failed to take decisive action against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and others named in the AgustaWestland deal in the next seven days. An emergency meeting of the party’s new political affairs committee was held to discuss the strategy if Sonia was not arrested in the case within one week.

The party’s Delhi convenor Dilip Pandey also wrote to the PM, asking why the Centre had failed to take action against the accused in the scam so far. “The AgustaWestland scam has brought great shame to the nation… The Modi government despite such an overwhelming majority… failed to make a single arrest. We demand to know what are the compulsions that make Narendra Modi protect the Gandhi family and others accused in this scam?”
