Days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal extended support to Hardik Patel, an AAP MLA from Delhi on Wednesday said he would seek court’s permission to meet the incarcerated Patidar quota agitation leader.
“The BJP government has imposed sedition charges on Hardik Patel. He was demanding something which was not an anti-national act,” Gulab Singh, who has been appointed Gujarat in-charge by AAP, told mediapersons.
Singh further said, “We will submit an application in the District Court on Thursday to meet Hardik in the Surat central Jail. We tried to meet Vandana Patel (woman Patidar leader) in jail, but our application was rejected.”
In Surat, meanwhile, posters lauding Kejriwal’s support for Hardik came up in localities dominated by the community.
