A case has been registered against stand-up comic and blogger Yash Rathi at Prem Nagar police station in Dehradun for making allegedly objectionable remarks about Lord Ram at an event.
According to the FIR, Rathi made the comment during his performance at ‘Youth for You’ event, organised at Sheela Farm in Nanda ki Chowki on March 8.

No arrest has yet been made in the case. Prem Nagar police station SHO P D Bhatt said: “An FIR is registered against stand-up comic Yash Rathi for making the comment at an event on March 8. The FIR is registered under IPC Section 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc) on Monday.”
The SHO said one Sagar Jaiswal, who claimed to be state unit president of Bhairav Vahini, a Hindutva organisation, was complainant in the case.
Before the complaint, several members of different Hindutva organisations protested at venue against the alleged statement.
