Govt shortlists tableaux of 11 ministries for R-Day parade

A source said that the the theme for the Department of Rural Development’s tableau will be the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ programme, chosen to showcase aspirations of people from rural areas. Several beneficiaries of the programme have been invited for participation, said an official.
Sources said the theme of the tableau of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying will be ‘Kamdhenu’, and it will showcase the government’s efforts to protect and promote indigenous cattle. This is the only ministry held by allies of the NDA government.

“It may be noted that in case the tableaux does not get fabricated as per the approved design of the model and subsequent suggestions/inputs of the Expert Committee or the music is not as per agreed details by the Expert Committee, the tableaux is liable to be disallowed to participate in the Republic Day Parade,” stated the Defence Ministry order.

“It has been experienced in the past that the quality of some of the music played on the tableau has not been of the requisite standard for the national function. It is, therefore, suggested that the recording of the selected music be done in a professional studio,” it added.
