High-pitched campaigning is underway for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections scheduled next month — first among a couple of states that will go to polls this year. Addressing a Business Conclave in Indore on the second day of his visit, Congress President Rahul Gandhi assured a detailed probe into Vyapam scam if Congress comes into power in Madhya Pradesh. He also said that Indore has the capability to become the best city in India and Congress will make that happen. Earlier on Monday, Gandhi took a jibe at Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan while addressing a rally in Jhabua and said: “Name of the son of CM’s son surfaced in the Panama papers, but no action was taken. Even a country like Pakistan punished its former PM when he was named in the Panama papers.”
Responding to this, Chouhan said he will file a criminal defamation suit against Gandhi for dragging his name and that of his family members in several scams, including in Vyapam and Panama papers.
Hours after he threatened to file a criminal defamation suit against Rahul Gandhi for dragging his son’s name in the Panama papers scandal, Gandhi Tuesday clarified he got confused as there is rampant corruption in the BJP.
Madhya Pradesh, where the Congress is in opposition since 2003, will go to polls on November 28. On day two, Gandhi will also visit the politically crucial Malwa-Nimar region that accounts for 66 of the 230 Assembly seats in the state.
Attacking the RSS, Rahul Gandhi said, "the case of four SC judges, the case of CBI Director, pressure on ECI are all examples of autonomous institutions being attacked. As a rigid organisation, BJP-RSS want to put their men in these institutions to control them."
Indore has the capabilities to become one of the best cities of India and to make it the same the Congress will work towards building Indore and understand its strategies.

When asked what will Congress do regarding Vyapam scam when it comes to power, Rahul Gandhi said a detailed probe will be done into the case but there will be no vindictiveness. Adding that justice will be served in the case, Rahul said Congress is a system of listeners. BJP is the system of loudspeakers.
Addressing a business community in Indore, Rahul Gandhi says, "India progresses rapidly when monopolies are broken. Liberalisation of 1991 was a prime example. Fundamental difference between Congress and BJP is that Congress breaks monopolies and BJP supports monopolies."
Addressing a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh Monday, Gandhi also alleged that the ‘One-Rank, One-Pension’ (OROP) scheme has not been implemented so far and the prime minister was telling “lies” on the issue. The prime minister “claims that OROP has been implemented. He speaks lies,” the Congress leader said. Referring to Jammu and Kashmir, he said the state is “on fire” right now, apparently referring to the latest killings in the state by terrorists. The Modi government “opened the doors of J&K for terrorists. No politician was martyred in J&K but armymen are laying their lives there because of Narendra Modi’s mistakes,” Gandhi said.
Correcting his earlier remarks on CM Shivraj Singh and family, Rahul Gandhi Tuesday said that, ' there's so much corruption in Madhya Pradesh that I got confused and named his son in Panama instead of e-tendering and Vyapam scam.
