Teacher ‘beats’ boy for talking in class

A Class IV student of a government school was allegedly beaten by the science teacher for talking in class

A Class IV student of a government school was allegedly beaten by the science teacher for talking in class.

Kishalay Banerjee of Panihati Trannath School in North 24 Parganas (North) was reportedly talking to his classmate when his teacher Mohua Sengupta got hold of a wooden stick and beat him. Kishalay was injured in the left arm and under his left ear. Later,when he returned home and fell asleep,his mother noticed the red marks on his body. Kishalay was taken to Panihati State General Hospital where,after initial treatment,he was referred to an ENT specialist.

The assistant headmaster of the school,Pradeep Banerjee,said he would take up the matter tomorrow.
