St Xavier’s organises inter-school debate

An annual all-India inter-school debate was organised by Frank Anthony Memorial at St Xavier’s School,Sector 44,here on Monday.

An annual all-India inter-school debate was organised by Frank Anthony Memorial at St Xavier’s School,Sector 44,here on Monday. Seven schools from different states participated in the competition. The topic for debate was ‘Money — the greatest change maker is also the the greatest problem creator’.

The team of Auckland House School,Shimla,was adjudged the winner and International Sahaja School,Dharamsala,was chosen as a runners-up. In the best speakers category,Pranav Rawal from Auckland House was adjudged winner and Varshi Negi runners-up.

“The teams and individuals selected today will be qualifying for the next stage. The final third stage will be held at Frank Anthony Public School,New Delhi,” said St Xavier’s vice-principal Chandan Patwal.

The performance of each participant followed by a rebutting session. Results were based on active rebuttal,the debate organisers said.

The event was anchored by Ujita Aggarwal from Class XII at St Xavier’s School. Category 2 of stage 1 competition was also held simultaneously at St Stephen’s School,Sector 45,on Monday.
