As many as 35,000 students will take the Maharashtra Health and Technology Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) on Thursday at 77 centres in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER),the designated competent authority for the exam,conducts the exam for admissions to all engineering,health sciences and pharmacy courses in the state.
Pune police have issued a prohibitory order banning photocopying,fax,telephone booths and email devices within a 200m radius of the exam centres in the city.
After the exam,a centralised admission process (CAP) will be carried out by DMER and Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) for admissions for the academic session 2012-13. The divisional authority for Pune regions,comprising Pune,Ahmednagar,Satara and Solapur is the dean of BJ Medical College,Pune.
