The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE),Maharashtra on Monday declared the results of the state Masters in Business Administration (MBA)/Masters in Management Studies (MMS)-CET common entrance test.
The MBA/ MMS -CET was held on March 11 across the state.
The written exam for MBA/MMS -CET was conducted in 287 test centres across the state. A total of 408 management institutes in the state will consider the state MBA/MMS-CET score for admission to 52,800 seats. While already there is a proposal for 5,700 new seats.
Of the total 82,764 candidates that appeared for the CET across the state,79,410 were declared qualified for the next level.
These students will now have to clear the next level such as group discussion, personal interview and submission of work experience certificate.
However, this year only 85,000 candidates registered for the state CET,while last year around 1,40,000 candidates took the CET.
A DTE official said, there was a significant decline in the number of registrations for CET this year because of the introduction of the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) from this year.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) conducted CMAT the online test last month and a total 75,000 candidates took the first CMAT.
This is the last year of the state MBA-CET. Most colleges that considered its score for admissions have already given their nod to consider CMAT scores. So the decline is justified, the official said
