A majority of schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) in the city registered almost 100 per cent pass rate in Class XII examinations as per the results announced on Monday.

Barring six students,around 1,000-odd students of around 15 schools in the city passed with flying colours,with some students getting distinction in science,commerce and arts streams,school authorities told The Indian Express.

A student of DPS Vadodara,Aastha Sethi,topped the city in arts stream with 98.5 per cent marks. “We believe she is the top-ranking student in arts stream in the country. But we will have to check this with the Board,” said principal A K Sinha.

Two students of Nav Rachana School topped in science and commerce streams,with Ushma Majumdar scoring 98.7% and Purva Khanna scoring 94.6% respectively,principal Bijoya Baksi said.

The school registered 100 per cent distinction in humanities and 87 per cent distinction in science stream.

Priyadarshini Kelkar,Principal of New Era Senior Secondary School,said,“There is hardly any failure in the entire city this year.”

Anand Vidya Vihar also recorded 100 per cent result,according to in-charge principal Reshma Amin.
