Girls outshine boys yet again; four schools register 100 per cent win

Girls outshone boys once again in the Central Board of Secondary Education Std XII exam results,which were declared on Monday.

Girls outshone boys once again in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Std XII exam results,which were declared on Monday. While the Chennai region,under which Pune also falls,saw a drop in average percentage from 91.32 to 90.59,it was also the best scoring region,followed by the Delhi region (85.4).

Four schools in the city — DAV Aundh,Delhi Public School,Army Public School,Kirkee and City International School,Wanowrie — recorded 100 per cent results.

At Kendriya Vidyalaya,Ganeshkhind,55 out of 56 students in the science stream passed. Akshay Dadre (94.4 per cent) scored the highest,followed by Harsha Deshmukh (94.0 per cent) and Mohit Manhas (93.8 per cent). In commerce stream,11 of 12 students passed,with Digvijay Singh (85.5 per cent) scoring the highest. The school had an overall pass percentage of 97.05 per cent.

Neelam Chakrabarty,principal,DPS,said,“Our performance this year has been brilliant. Of the 70 students,24 have scored above 90 per cent. The average marks of our students is around 86.6 per cent.”

Similarly,principal of KV,CME,Savithri Thiagarajan,said,“It has been a good year for us because all our commerce students cleared the exam. The pass percentage of our science stream was 95.6 per cent.”

Kirti Sharma,principal,KV,Ganeshkhind,said,“This year,the overall performance of our students has improved. This year,the pass percentage is 97.05. Students have performed well in English,with 28 of them scoring over 90 per cent. Five students from the science and commerce stream have scored over 90 per cent.”

At KV no 1 (Lohegaon),the pass percentage for the science stream was 97.5,while it was 100 per cent for the commerce stream. A total of 164 students had appeared for the exam. The highest scorers in the science stream were Manish Bisht and Monica,both with 96 per cent. In the commerce stream,the highest score was 91.6 per cent.

At KV Range Hills,Saikat Bera from the science stream scored 96.7 per cent and Aishwarya Krishnan from the commerce stream scored 96.4 per cent.
