Lucky Nine Eight of these students are girls,seven being from BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School
In the class XII results of the Punjab State Education Board (PSEB),Ludhiana students brought laurels by making a clean sweep of the top nine positions in the State. Out of these top nine positions,only position number five has been bagged by a boy and the rest are all girls. Students of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School,Jamalpur,Focal Point,came out as the best as seven of their girls are in the lucky nine list.
Parul Gupta of Sanmati Vimal Jain School,Jagraon,has topped in the State,scoring 94.5 per cent marks. A non-medical student,Parul,however,has no aim to be an engineer. She wants to be a lecturer in Chemistry.
I did not even appear for any engineering entrance exam because I never wanted to be in the rate race of engineers, said Parul. Chemistry is my favourite subject and I am quite clear in my aim.
Her school principal Shashi Jain stated that Parul stood seventh in the class X exams in the state as well and she was expecting her to be among the top 10 once again. But the top position is,indeed,a matter of honour for our institution. Her hard work has paid her well, she added.
Paruls father is a business man while mother is a housewife.
Rishu Thakur of BCM (Focal Point) is at the number two position in the State while she has topped in the Humanities stream. Rishu took Sanskrit,Physical Education and Fine Arts as her optional subjects and now wants to pursue her graduation in GCW,Ludhiana.
She has shared the second position with a Jalandhar girl. Rishu scored 93.9 per cent marks.
Nishu Bedi,also from the Humanities stream and from the same school,is at number three in the State with 93.8 per cent marks. Meenakshi Bhagat of Humanities is at the number four position in the State with 93.7 per cent marks.
She has shared the position with Manpreet of Roopnagar district.
Satnad Das of PAU Government School is the only boy in the top nine list at number 5. He scored 93.4 per cent marks and is from Science stream.
Incidentally,he is the only student from a government school among the top nine.
Anita Rani of the Commerce stream from Dashmesh Public Senior Secondary School is at the number 6 position in the state with 93.4 per cent marks. However,she is the topper in the Commerce stream in the state.
Her number 6 position has been shared by Gurmeet Kaur and Amanpreet of BCM (Focal Point),both of the Commerce stream. Sujata and Jyoti Goyal,both of the Humanities stream from BCM (Focal Point) are at the number seven position in Punjab with 93.3 per cent.
Avneet Kaur of R S Model Senior Secondary School is at number eight with 93.1 per cent marks. Avneet is a Commerce student.
The ninth position has been bagged by Mehak Goyal of Rashtriya Bal Vidya Mandir School,with 93 per cent marks. A Jalandhar girl,Rupinder Kaur,too has scored 93 per cent and is at number nine.
The principal of BCM (Focal Point) was excited with the results. She said that the school had achieved 100 per cent pass.
