D Y Patil School hits 12th 100 in a row

As many as 42 schools in Pimpri-Chinchwad scored 100 percent pass in the SSC examinations.

As many as 42 schools in Pimpri-Chinchwad scored 100 percent pass in the SSC examinations. Of these,several schools have kept their tradition of securing cent per cent result,but Padmashree Dr DY Patil Public School,Pimpri has created a record of sorts by notching up 100 per cent for the 12 consecutive time,a feat achieved by none of the other schools in town.

This year,the pass percentage has been 88.33 which is three percent higher than last year. As many as 16,990 students from 141 schools appeared for the examination. Of these,14,678 were new students and 2,312 were repeaters.

Several schools have credited their success to the hard work put in by students,teachers and the cooperation extended by parents. DY Patil school principal Mrudula Mahajan said,” We owe our success to the efficient and persevering staff who are the pillars of strength. The students have put their best foot forward and the management has been supportive,” saying that the school has done well in both academics and sports,Mahajan said the school provides an ideal atmosphere for students to excel. Ten of its student secured 90 per cent marks,80 secured distinction,and 63 scored first class.

Thirteen students tutored by Mahajan,a former national softball player,have represented the state and national softball teams this year and got the benefit of 25 marks. Dr PD Patil,chairman and Bhagyashree Patil,vice-chairman also praised the school,calling it had a “habit of success” that has caught on among teachers and students.


Rounak Kore (97.8%),Aishwarya Dhaigude (96.9%) and Lalita Chindarkar (94%) stood tall among students. Aishwarya has secured cent per cent marks in Sanskrit.

DY Patil school is probably the only one in the industrial town that has a convenient afternoon shift for primary school students — a move which has drawn praise from educationists and citizens.
