In the class XII results declared by the CBSE today,Commerce students scored exceptionally high compared to their counterparts in other streams. District topper Mehak Ghai with a score of 97.6 per cent was,however,from the Non-Medical stream. Mehak is a student of DAV (BRS Nagar).
She is waiting for the results of the All-India engineering entrance exam (AIEEE). Although she did appear for the IIT joint entrance exam,her score was not on the higher side,she told Newsline.
I want to be a software engineer and am sure that I will clear the AIEEE exam because it went well, said Mehak. He father Rajesh Ghai is a businessman.
Arshia Arora of Sacred Heart Convent (Sarabha Nagar) and Manpreet Kaur of BCM (Chandigarh Road) shared the top position in Commerce in Ludhiana,scoring 96.4 per cent marks. She informed wants to take admission to Sri Ram College of Commerce,Delhi.
In the Medical stream,Ishani Garg of Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School stood first. She has already secured admission to McMaster University,Canada,for her bachelor in science degree and later intends join medical school for research in neuro-sciences. I want to do research on-neuro sciences and that is not available in India. So it was pre-decided that I would do my higher studies in Canada. She adds,My grandfather was suffering from neuron disorder and passed away last month. So I want to find a cure for this disease.
Abdul Shahbaj of KVM (Civil Lines) is the topper in the Humanities stream,95.4 per cent marks. Apart from this,Sakshi Mahajan is the overall topper in in BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School,with 96.2 per cent marks,while Priya Kapur of the same stream is at second position with 95.6 per cent marks.
In the Medical stream,Sahil Jain is the topper,with 94.4 per cent,while Shubam Arora has topped the Non-Medical stream,with 94.8 per cent. In Arts,Tamanna Sharma bagged the first position in her school with 93.8 per cent while Palak Malik was at second position with 91.8 per cent marks. In Financial Marketing Management,a new stream introduced at BCM,Shreeyansh Singhal scored 94.2 per cent marks and stood first.
A total of 408 students appeared for the exam and all of them cleared the exam. Ninety-one students scored more than 90 per cent,informed Principal Paramjit Kaur. At DAV (BRS Nagar),171 students appeared and 42 of them scored 90 per cent or above marks. At Guru Nanak International School,Bhupinder Kaur of the Commerce stream stood first with 95.4 per cent marks while at Sacred Heart (BRS Nagar branch),25 students scored more than 90 per cent marks. Banveet Kaur,again from Commerce,stood first in the school with 95 per cent marks.
