Internationally known organisation CRY (Child Rights and You) collaborated with PMC to organise the ‘Go to school’ drive on 19th June. The drive was organised to encourage the under-privileged children to enroll at schools. Volunteers go door to door, talking to parents and children, spreading awareness about the importance of education and the law of the country in subject to Child Labor. The children will enrolled into schools and checked upon by the volunteers on a monthly basis. The Regional Director,Cry,Kreeanne Rabadi says,There are many children in labor in these communities and this is a violation of those childrens rights. Moreover parents, and society at large, must recognize that by keeping children out of school,we are robbing them of the opportunity to build a better life as an adult,so through this drive,we hope that parents will be encouraged to send their children to school and not to work.
