Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu (BJP) won the Dhemaji assembly seat, defeating Congress candidate Sailen Sonowal by 32,229 votes.

Pradyut Bordoloi, a candidate for the Bharatiya Janata Party, holds a lead in the Dispur constituency. Bordoloi, formerly with the Congress party, joined the BJP in March 2026. The Election Commission confirms the lead.
AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal leads AJP candidate Rejaul Karim Choudhury by 10,253 votes in the Binnakandi constituency after seven rounds of counting, per Election Commission data.
