The ECI on Tuesday informed the Delhi HC it will decide within three months Congress MP Randeep Surjewala’s representation seeking the final electoral rolls for Assembly and Parliamentary elections held in Haryana and Maharashtra between 2009 and 2024. Recording the poll panel’s submission, Justice Jyoti Singh disposed of the plea.

In his plea, Surjewala said he had submitted a representation to the ECI (served on Dec 29) for “in-depth analysis of the electoral roll data” following the poll panel’s response to an earlier representation by the Congress on the addition and deletion of voters in Maharashtra. The EC had said around 48 lakhs voters were added in the final electoral roll of Maharashtra between May and October last year.
