Delhi HC exempts Smriti Irani from personal appearance in defamation case

Justice Kait issued notice to Sanjay Nirupam which was accepted by his Counsel Handoo.

Delhi High Court justice Suresh Kait exempted Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani from personal appearance before the trial court in a defamation case against her by Sanjay Nirupam of the Congress.

Irani had filed a petition seeking directions to quash the trial and the summons issued against her by the trial court in the said defamation complaint.

Justice Kait issued notice to Nirupam which was accepted by his Counsel Handoo. The next date of hearing is August 13.
