Techie commits suicide,police suspect love affair

An IT professional working with a multinational company committed suicide at his residence in S-Block,DLF Phase-III,on Monday night.

An IT professional working with a multinational company committed suicide at his residence in S-Block,DLF Phase-III,on Monday night. The police were informed about it by the techie’s friends the following morning.

According to police,the victim has been identified as 26-year-old Surender Singh,a resident of Rohtak. He used to live in a rented apartment with three friends. They used to work in different companies.

Police said after having dinner on Monday night,the three went to their rooms. However,Surender went to the second floor and hung himself from the ceiling with a cable.

The police arrived at the spot and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. The body was later handed over to his parents.

Though no suicide letters were recovered,police said the reason could be an affair he was having with a woman employed in Delhi University.

Initial investigations revealed that Surender had talked to the girl late in the night,after which he called up her sister. There were also a lot of missed calls from unknown numbers on his cellphone.

DLF Phase-III Station Head Officer Babulal said investigators are currently going through the call records of the phone.

The software professional’s family has not levelled any allegations against anybody,Babulal added.
