Son of a local BJP leader,15 other get lifer in murder case

Sixteen people,including son of a local BJP leader,were sentenced to life imprisonment by a Kanpur court for murdering a youth seven years back.

Sixteen people,including son of a local BJP leader,were sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court in Kanpur for murdering a youth seven years back.

According to prosecution,Veer Bal alias Chotu was stabbed to death by Raj Ballabh Pandey,son of local BJP leader Radhey Shyam,and his friends following a fight on May 27,2002.

The local court yesterday found Raj Ballabh Pandey,Manish,Vivek Shukla,Mahendra Pratap,Sanjay,Arun,Dharmendra,Ravi Shankar,Shammi,Alok,Prateek,Balihari,Monu Pandey,Vikas Tiwari,Virendra Verma and Dhirendra guilty.

A fine of Rs 10,000 on each of them was also imposed.
