Taking serious note of alleged rape of disabled girls in a school in Shimla,Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal ordered a probe into the incident and warned that people who carry out such acts in the name of social service will not be spared.
“Great injustice has been done to the deaf and dumb. As soon as the police were informed the four perpetrators were arrested. In the name of social service the people who carry out such acts will not be spared. The government will be strict with these organisations. I have told the administration to probe into other such NGOs to find out if similar incidents have occurred”,Dhumal said.
The state government’s decision to probe the shocking incident comes a day after police arrested three of the staff members that includes the principal Vijay Singh. An accused teacher who was absconding was arrested on Thursday morning.
The state’s Department of Social Justice would inquire into the entire incident and a show cause notice was being issued to the NGO Prerna Welfare Association,Minister for Social Justice Sarveen Chaudhary said.
The departmental probe team would include a official who could understand the language of the deaf and dumb,she said.
