Three youths,arrested in connection with the alleged rape of an Anglo-Indian woman,were today sent to police custody by a court till March three.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Chandraprabha Saha sent the trio to 14-day police custody on a prayer by the detective department of Kolkata Police.
The trio,identified as Sumit Bajaj,Nasir Ali and Ruman Khan,had impersonated fake identities at a night club on February 5 where they had approached the woman.
Police had got a lead about them from the CCTV footage from the night club.
Sumit Bajaj,who is the son of a businessman,was found to be the owner of the car in which the alleged crime was committed. The car was impounded for forensic tests.
Nasir Ali alias Tusi,who is a dealer in leather products,had impersonated a person named Lavi Gidwani.
Police after investigating had found that Gidwani was in Canada since January two,while two others named by the woman,were found to be elsewhere.
The woman in her mid-thirties and a mother of two children,had filed an FIR with the Park Street police station four days after the incident.
