Mumbai blasts: CID inquiry ordered into Faiz’s death

Faiz died in a hospital after being questioned by police in connection with Mumbai blasts.

Maharashtra DGP Ajit Parasnis ordered a CID inquiry into the death of Faiz Usmani,who died in a civic-run hospital after being questioned by police in connection with the terror blasts.

“A CID inquiry has been ordered into the death of Usmani by the DGP. The state CID will look into various things that resulted into his death,” said Joint Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Rajnish Seth.

Usmani,brother of 2008 Ahmedabad blast accused Afzal Usmani,died at 1.30 am,while he was undergoing treatment for hemiparesis and hypertension in the Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Sion in central Mumbai,doctors said.

Usmani,a resident of suburban Govandi,was called for questioning by Chembur’s Crime Branch unit on Saturday and admitted in the hospital at 5.50 pm,after he complained of health problems.
