A 35-year-old senior manager of a multinational firm was found dead with his throat slit in his apartment in Bangalore’s Iblur area Sunday.
Saurabh Rastogi (35), who hails from Lucknow and worked with Genpact, was alone in the apartment when the crime took place. His wife, Ankisha Rastogi, according to police, repeatedly made calls on his phone Saturday night, but Saurabh did not respond. The next morning after failing to get a response from him, she alerted the neighbours, who then informed the police.
Police suspect that the murder was committed by someone who was known to Saurabh as there was no sign of any forceful entry in the apartment. Ankisha also told police over phone that Saurabh had a visitor on Saturday night around 8.30pm. However, they were unable to confirm his identity. Preliminary medical examination has revealed that the murder might have been committed between 9.45 pm to 12 midnight.
Police have found some valuables missing from the apartment. However, they suspect it to be a ruse. “The murderer is trying to deviate the investigators,” police said.
A case of murder has been registered.
