ENDING the speculation over the disappearance of missing Bollywood starlet Laila Khan,the main accused in the case,Pervez Tak,has reportedly told the police that the actress,her mother Shelina Patel and three siblings were killed by two gunmen hired by his accomplices on February 9 last year.
Tak has confessed that they were shot dead in front of him at an isolated place in Mumbai, confirmed Garib Dass,DIG,Ramban,Doda and Kishtwar range. Dass said Tak,who is Lailas stepfather,will be taken to Mumbai to identify the spot.
Tak reportedly told the police that he aided by Asif Sheikh,who was reported to be earlier married to Shelina,and Afghan Khan,a Mumbai builder had convinced Laila and her family members to go to Dubai for some time following threats from some members of the Mumbai underworld who wanted to take over their properties.
On February 9 last year,on the pretext of taking them to the airport,they took Laila and her family members to an isolated spot on the outskirts of Mumbai,where they were shot by two gunmen allegedly hired by Sheikh and Khan.
Earlier,Tak had tried to mislead the police by saying that Laila and her family members had gone to Dubai on fake passports. Both Tak and Sheikh have been arrested.
When contacted,Khan denied involvement and said,I have given every possible information on the family to the ATS,crime branch and Kashmir DIG.
